The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. in association with the National Olympic Academy hosted an Olympic Youth Camp at the Barbados Workers Union Labour College at Mangrove, St. Philip from 14 December – 24 December 2015. This camp was focused on emerging and promising athletes between the ages of 13-17 who had the potential to represent Barbados at future games such as Commonwealth Youth Games and the Youth Olympic Games.

The camp was designed to prepare these athletes for international exposure and addressed areas such as leadership, sacrifice, etiquette, doping, self-awareness, nutrition, public speaking, physiology and fitness to name a few. By the end of the camp the participants showed a vast improvement in their self-confidence, respect, teamwork skills and discipline. The participants have labelled their experience as an educational, difficult yet inspiring experience in which they will strive to use in their everyday lifestyle along with their sports.
