Securing her first regional Title on her first appearance at the championships was Phoebe Gittens in the girls under 11 category. With great focus, Gittens swept away Christiana Fernandes (GUY) in three games 11-3, 12-10, 11-2 to take the title.

In what was described as a heart throbbing match between Sumairaa Suleman and Abosaide Cadogan (GUY) in the girls under 15, our number two seed, pulled out all the stops to take down the number one Guyanese seed in five games 11-1, 5-11, 5-11, 11-4, 11-9 securing the second Gold of the day.

Our four consistent seasoned Champions lived up to expectations and Claimed the titles in their respective categories; Meagan Best Girls under 17 Title winner took down Jade Pitcairn (Cay) 3-0; 11-0, 11-4, 11-6. Followed by Khamal Cumberbatch taking the boys under 17 Title after defeating Taylor Carrick (Ber) 3-0; 11-7, 11-4, 11-3. Next was Amanda Haywood dominating in her final match of girls under 19 against Alexandria Yearwood (Tri) to take her last Junior Individual Title much to the delight of the Bajan crowd in 3 games 11-5, 11-7, 11-3. The final match of the night was of the same style when Josiah Griffith served Jonathan Walker (Jam) a 3-0 defeat 11-7, 11-8, 11-3 to close his junior chapter.

Silver Medals were captured by Darien Benn in the boys under 15 and Aidan Parris in the boys under 13 divisions. Benn was unable to dominate in the finals against Shomari Wiltshire (Guy) who defeated him 3 games 11-3, 11-3, 11-9. Parris was also forced to settle for second place after going down to Michael Alphonso (Guy) 11-3, 12-10, 11-3.

Bronze Medals were awarded to Rebeka Nichols, girls under 13 and Jada Smith-Padmore, girls under 17.

Twenty-two Barbadian juniors participated in the individual competition of the championships which attracted 126 players across seven (7) Caribbean Countries; Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad, Jamaica, Bermuda, Cayman Islands and OECS.

The Team Competition commences tomorrow (Wednesday).
