2018 CAC Games
Boxing and dancing– the two are worlds apart, but for Kimberley Gittens, they are a part of her world. The 24-year-old was born to perform–and the reigning national boxing champion puts on a show every time she steps into the ring.
Kimberley has been making a name for herself in the regional and international arena- in fact, she is undefeated in the Caribbean, an accomplishment which she says motivates her.
The then 26-year-old jabbed her way to collecting the bronze medal in the light welterweight (64 kg) category of the 2018 CAC Games in Barranquilla, Colombia, but missed out on her opportunity to fight for the gold when she lost 3-2 to Mirquin Sena of the Dominican Republic in the semi-finals.
Gittens was the first female boxer to represent the island in boxing at those games.
