The first day of competition for the women’s recurve division the distances shot were 70 and 60 meters; Charlene Goddard and Judith Margas ranked 19th and 23rd respectively. However after completing the remaining distance of 50 and 30 meters; which completes the FITA or 1440 rounds, Charlene Goddard and Judith Magras improved their ranking to 15th and 22nd respectively.

Charlene Goddard did her personal best score of 295 at 50 meters and 1189 for the 1440 round. She has qualified for her 1100 archer pin.

On November 21st to advance their quest for medals their first matches will be as follows:

Charlene Goddard will have to win her match against Larissa Pagan from Cuba to advance to the 1/8th
Judith Magras will have to win her match against Lya Solano from Dominican Republic to advance to the 1/8th

This afternoon the Recurve Mixed team of Charlene Goddard and Dwight Hagley defeated the Costa Rica team of Gloriana Bermudes and Ruben Jimenez with a score of 5 to 1. This advanced the team to the quarter finals. The Barbados team was later defeated by the Colombia team of Ana Renbon and Daniel Pineda who advance to the semifinals.

Regarding the men’s recurve division the first day of competition the distances shot were 90 and 70 meters; Dwight Hagley and Brandon Field ranked 23rd and 28th respectively. However after completing the remaining distance of 50 and 30 meters; which completes the FITA or 1440 rounds Dwight Hagley and Brandon Field ranked 24th and 28th respectively.

Dwight Hagley score was 1176 for the 1440 round. He has qualified for his 1100 archer pin.

On November 21st to advance their quest for medals their first matches will be as follows:

Dwight Hagley will have to win his match against Thomas Flossbach from Guatemala to advance to the 1/8th
Brandon Field will have to win his match against Juan Stevens from Cuba to advance to the 1/8th

Shooting:

Louis Estwick placed 25th out of 25 in the Prone Rifle Event with a score of 588 points.

Today will be a Pre-Event Training session at the range before the start of the final event, the Standard Pistol, which will take place on Friday,

The Shooting team will leave Xalapa on Friday night at the start of their return to Vera Cruz and on to Barbados via Mexico City and Miami.

Their flight is scheduled to leave Vera Cruz airport on the morning of Saturday 22 at 6.15 am.

Table Tennis:

The Table Tennis team will leave Xalapa on Thursday night to return to Vera Cruz to begin their trip home on Friday morning.

Their flight is scheduled to leave Vera Cruz airport at 6.15 am on Friday morning.

Cycling:

Edwin Sutherland withdrew after about 15 Kilometers of the 40 Kilo Points Race.

The final Cycling Event, The Road Race will be contested over the weekend.

The Athletics, Badminton and Equestrian teams arrived in Xalapa last night and have settled into their hotel, the Maria Victoria.
