BOA President, Steve Stoute was recently honoured by the South American Sports Organization and the Peruvian Olympic Committee. Stoute was recognized for his leadership of the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) during an Extraordinary General Assembly of ODESUR held in Lima, Peru on December 5.

Stoute was also recently elected First Vice President of the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization (CACSO), which is the oldest regional sports entity in the world. CACSO is the owner of the Central American and Caribbean Games. The election took place at the Annual General Assembly held in Barranquilla, Colombia. The full Board elected was as follows:

President Hector Cardona – Puerto Rico
1st Vice President Steve Stoute – Barbados
2nd Vice President Carlos Padilla – Mexico
3rd Vice President Baltazar Medina – Colombia
Treasurer Camilo Amado – Panama
Secretary Professor Eduardo Alvarez Camacho – Venezuela
1st Director Judy Simons – Bermuda
2nd Director Ruperto Herrera – Cuba
3rd Director Christopher Samuda – Jamaica
4th Director Salvador Jiminez – Honduras
5th Director Hans Larsen – Haiti

Mr. Erskine Simmons has been appointed to the CACSO Technical Commission.
