Orson Simpson – Treasurer


Mr. Orson Simpson is the Treasurer of the Barbados Olympic Association, Inc. having been elected to the position in 2017.

After accepting the invitation to volunteer as the Financial Advisor to the Board, he was able to get a close-up view of the operations of the BOA and readily accepted the encouragement to offer himself as Treasurer when the vacancy arose.

Mr. Simpson is an experienced Sports Administrator and has served various sporting disciplines locally and regionally.  Some of the posts held include being the Treasurer of the Barbados Cricket Association, President of Pickwick Cricket Club, Vice-President of the Barbados Squash Association, Treasurer of the Caribbean Squash Association and serving as a Director of the National Sports Council.

In addition to being Chairman of the Finance and Audit Commission of the BOA, he is a member of the Administration Commission, the Olympic Solidarity/Panam Sports Commission and the Allocations Commission.

He is highly respected as a senior squash referee in the Caribbean since attaining the distinction of being the first person to reach the level of National (A – Level) Referee in the Caribbean.  He also served as the Tournament Referee at various Caribbean Tournaments and has officiated at multiple World Team Championships, the Commonwealth Games, Pan Am Games, CAC Games and Caribbean Championships.

Mr. Simpson does not limit himself to sports but volunteers his services to other charitable organizations.

Professionally, Mr. Simpson is a Chartered Accountant.
