The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. Women in Sport Commission officially launched its year-long activities in Celebration of International Women’s Day 2020 and its theme Each For Equal.
In a cocktail reception held at the Barbados Olympic Centre, Wildey St. Michael, Chairperson of the Women in Sport Commission, Ytannia Wiggins gave the synopsis of the 2020 campaign and outlined the initiatives and activities the commission had in store for year.
A highlight of the night’s proceedings, included a special acknowledgement award which was presented to Mrs. Esther Maynard, BSS for her outstanding vision, dedication and commitment as a pioneer for women in sport.
The first event of these celebrations will begin on Sunday, March 15, with the Barbados Equestrian Association showcasing FEI jumping, horse care/grooming methods and the opportunity to get in the saddle and go for a riding experience. This event will take place at the White Hall Equestrian Center, White Hall, St.Peter. #IWD2020 #EachForEqual
