Kennie King of the Pioneers Badminton Club/Attackk Badminton has competed in the sport internationally for Barbados and has reaped success.
The former Christ Church Foundation School student, who is now enrolled at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, had his first taste of the sport when his brother started to play. Kennie admits that initially he was not very enthusiastic about playing the sport, but decided to still give it a go. After the first day of playing, he instantly fell in love with it. His commitment to the sport has not waned and he trains five days per week with coach, Shakeira Waithe, to continually develop his badminton skills.
The 19-year old is an avid Michael Jackson fan, he enjoys listening and dancing to his music. He also enjoy watching television, with Family Guy, Sponge Bob Square Pants, and nature/science documentaries be among his preferences.
