Dr. Adrian Lorde is a Director of the Barbados Olympic Association Inc. and President of the Barbados Sports Medicine Association. He is currently Secretary of the Pan American Sports Medicine Federation, and also Chairman of the National Anti-Doping Commission of Barbados and the Caribbean Regional Anti-Doping Organization (RADO). Dr Lorde has served as a member of the Medical Commissions of both the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games, and Pan American Games Sports Organization since 1993.

Dr. Lorde has attended four previous Olympic Games in different capacities. In Athens, Dr. Lorde was an Independent Observer for the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and also served in that capacity at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar and the Winter Paralympics in Vancouver in 2010. He has been Barbados Olympic team physician since Barcelona in 1992.

Dr. Lorde has also had the honour of being part of the WADA Athlete Outreach Teams at a number of major Games. He was also Barbados’ representative on the WADA Foundation Board. He sits as a member of the WADA TUE Expert Group and chaired the first meeting of the Ad-Hoc Working Group on RADOs earlier this year.

A member of the Medical Committee of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), Dr. Lorde has been Medical and Anti-Doping Delegate for the International Associations of Athletic Federations (IAAF) at regional and international competitions. He chaired the Barbados Medical Committee for the ICC Cricket World Cup held in the West Indies in 2007.

An Associate Lecturer in Family Medicine at the School of Clinical Medicine and Research of the University of the West Indies, and Dr. Lorde has presented papers in Sports Medicine and Anti-Doping at many local, regional and international conferences.
