ABOUT WUSHU

WUSHU- Wushu (Kung Fu) was introduced to the Barbadian public in 1970 by Sifu Carl Crichlow. In 1977, he established the Wushu Center in Sunbury, St. Philip to promote and develop the sport and art of Wushu and Tai Chi in Barbados and the Caribbean

The Barbados Wushu Society was formed in 1990 from the traditional and contemporary schools of Wushu in Barbados. The Barbados Wushu Tai Chi Federation was established on January 21st, 1994 as successor organisation. In April, 1995 BWTF became a member of the National Sports Council in Barbados and recognized as the official representative body for Wushu in Barbados by the International Wushu Federation.
