Last week, The National Olympic Academy (NOA) in collaboration with UNICEF Eastern Caribbean, hosted an Athlete Safeguarding Workshop attended by the youth of the Barbados Volleyball Association(BVA) at our headquarters in Wildey.
The workshop was presented by Kendia Brathwaite and focused on educating young athletes on issues related to abuse in sport.
Participants of the workshop created social media hashtags which they could then use to help spread awareness of abuse in sport, these hashtags were: #backseat, #coachdonttouchmethere, #knowyourrights and#speakup.
