The Badminton team has a wealth of experience behind them. This is the third consecutive games for Captain, Shari Watson and Mariama Eastmond while Dakeil Thorpe and Andre Padmore will both be participating in their second Commonwealth Games.

Members of the team got some pre-Commonwealth Games warm-up action when they competed in the SOLO Senior & Masters Open Badminton Championships at the Central Regional Indoor Sport Arena in Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago earlier this month.

Eastmond and Shari Hope took the women’s title while the pair of Padmore and Thorpe were crowned the men’s champions. Barbados also won the mixed division.

Head coach of the team is Athelstone Forde, and Janelle Denny is the Manager.
