The National Olympic Academy of Barbados held a Beach Clean Up in November at the Heywoods Beach, St. Peter. Despite the heavy showers, a number of volunteers braved the weather and came out to lend a hand to beautifying the environment.

Academy Director, Mr. Dave Farmer was extremely pleased with the response from the participants, and lauded their contribution especially since they braved heavy rains to participate in the project. “Thank you all for coming out and making this beach clean up a success. This is a very important initiative in our Sports For All program and I am exceedingly pleased that so many of you so eagerly gave of your time,” he said.

Students from the Coleridge & Parry Secondary School’s Environmental Club along with club leader and teacher Mr. Woodruff took full advantage of the opportunity to participate in the clean-up.

Participants and facilitators of the Aganar Program also came out and support. There was also participation from past participants of the International Olympic Academy, Janelle Denny and Jade Browne.
