The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. and the National Olympic Academy are now accepting applications for the 2026 Advanced Sport Management Course (ASMC). This professional diploma programme is aimed at strengthening leadership and management capacity within sport organisations.
This course is tailored for individuals serving in senior roles or managing key projects within their organisations. Eligible candidates must be members of the Board, Commissions, or staff at the BOA, or individuals at the executive level, members of sub-committees or staff of NFs, or other bodies responsible for the development of sport. Prior completion of the International Olympic Committee’s Sports Administrators’ Course is a prerequisite for all applicants.
Course Overview
The ASMC runs from May 8 to November 21, 2026, and will be held at the Barbados Olympic Centre, Wildey, St. Michael. A total of 14 sessions will be delivered, primarily on Saturdays and Sundays, each lasting approximately six hours.
Participants will immerse themselves in comprehensive modules designed to provide immediate, practical impact:
- Managing an Olympic Sport Organisation
- Managing Strategically
- Managing Human Resources
- Managing Finances
- Managing Marketing
- Organising a Major Sport Event

The deadline to register for the ASMC is March 16, 2026. To complete their application, interested individuals must submit a curriculum vitae detailing their experience in sports and/or sports administration, as well as their current position. They must also provide a nomination letter from their respective organisation, which must include the name of the individual who will certify their work.
