Interested persons are invited to submit applications for the Master of Arts Olympic Studies degree programme starting in September 2023. The programme is offered by the German Sport University Cologne.
The main objective of the unique degree programme is to provide the students with an interdisciplinary knowledge about the Olympic Movement. International teaching teams from different cooperating universities teach seminars in sport history, sport pedagogy, ethics, international relations, media/commercialization and sport governance, all closely linked to Olympic Studies.
The advanced studies programme implements a high-level, interdisciplinary curriculum in Olympic Studies aimed at fostering the links between the academic and the Olympic world. The programme is designed to facilitate recruitment of a wide range of participants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds.
Candidates are to hold a 3 years bachelor ́s or equivalent degree, and have at least two years of experience in an environment ideally relevant to the interests of the Olympic family, which includes International Federations, National Olympic Committees, media agencies and schools of sport.
The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. will support one person for an Olympic Solidarity scholarship to pursue this programme. Acceptance in the programme is a condition for recommendation for the scholarship. The application deadline to the university is 28 February, 2023.
