Apply now for the 46th PAISAC Training Program

The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. (BOA) is inviting local coaches to apply for the 46th edition of the International Support Program for African and Caribbean Sport (PAISAC). Through this initiative, the BOA will select one outstanding candidate to recommend for an Olympic Solidarity (OS) scholarship to pursue the programme.

Since 2002, PAISAC has provided advanced, high-level training in applied sports sciences. The curriculum, which is theoretical and multisport, is designed to provide coaches with the essential foundation to optimally plan practices for their athletes. The primary objective of the programme is to empower coaches with valuable experience and knowledge, which they are expected to bring back and apply to their respective national sports structures and the broader Olympic movement. Each participant will learn how to adapt this knowledge specifically to their sport and their athletes’ competitive levels.

This comprehensive training is divided into two phases:

  • Phase 1: Distance Learning (Online), running six weeks from November 9 to December 11, 2026.
  • Phase 2: In-Person Training, on location in Montreal, Canada, for three weeks from May 24 to June 11, 2027.

Interested coaches are asked to note that there are strict time constraints in place for Phase 1; therefore, participants will not be able to work full-time during the e-learning period, which runs from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm (Montreal time) on weekdays. Attendance for all classes is mandatory. Additionally, to participate in the distance-learning phase, candidates must have a computer equipped with a camera and reliable access to high-speed internet.

To be considered for the OS scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Provide proof of coaching experience in their respective sport and demonstrate that they are currently active in coaching.
  • Show a strong commitment to returning from the programme and making a sustainable, important contribution to their sport.

Coaches who want to pursue the PAISAC training must submit the following documents:

  1. A cover letter outlining your objectives and expectations for participating in the programme.
  2. A detailed curriculum vitae including your athletic background, coaching experience (sports played, clubs/athletes coached, past achievements, and technical courses completed), and your latest coaching activity. Please ensure the year is explicitly indicated for each milestone.
  3. A copy of your national ID card.
  4. A letter of support from your National Federation detailing the reasons for your recommendation and outlining exactly how your participation will benefit the sport.

Completed applications must be submitted via email to Janelle Denny, Director of the National Olympic Academy, at janelle.denny@olympic.org.bb and copied to info@olympic.org.bb, no later than Thursday, June 25, 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
