The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. is pleased to host the Barbados leg of the Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay on Thursday March 6. The relay starts at Government House at approximately 10.30 a.m.
Route:
Proceeds from Government House to the Nita Barrow Roundabout, turning right on Welches Road and advancing up Government Hill, passing Springer Memorial School and Charles F. Broome on the right and turning left at Howells Cross Road, passing Barbados Community College.
The relay proceeds along Howell’s Road and turns left on Blenheim Road, pass the National Sports Council and down My Lord’s Hill turning left at the Welches Post Office, proceeding along Welches Road through the stop lights at the Government Hill/Tweedside Road/Welches junction and proceeding to the Nita Barrow Roundabout, where the relay will advance towards Government House, proceeding up Pine Hill pass St. Winifred’s School to the junction at Pine East/West Blvd.
The relay will then turn right on this Blvd., passing the Wilkie Cumberbatch School advancing to the junction at Collymore Rock where it will turn left progressing pass Highgate Gardens and Luther Thorne Primary School, pass Carters General Store and following the highway, pass the BET building and terminating at the Barbados Olympic Centre in the Sir Garfield Sobers Complex.
