The Barbados Olympic Association (BOA) is seeking an exceptional nominee for the upcoming TAFISA/NIKE/CANOC Girls Positive and Safe Coaching Pathway Programme.
Scheduled for September 18–19, 2026, in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, this intensive, two-day programme is being hosted by the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) in partnership with The Association for International Sport for All (TAFISA).
The initiative is designed to tackle the gender inequities that restrict the participation of women and girls in sports. Using a targeted “coaching the coaches” framework, the pathway seeks to cultivate safer, more accessible, and equitable sporting environments for girls, while enhancing the quality of coaching provided across the region.
Participants will engage in curriculum modules, including Body Confidence, Safeguarding in Sport for All, Coaching Her, and the Coaching Girls Guide. Sessions will be led by TAFISA Regional Trainer Ms. Danisha Brathwaite, with on-the-ground support from local coordinator Mr. Tyrone James and other subject matter experts.
National Federations are permitted to nominate one individual each to attend the programme. Eligible candidates must be drawn from the following groups: current coaches, technical officials and managers, retired athletes, sports leaders and facilitators, or girls in sport.
Persons interested in being nominated to attend this regional programme are encouraged to contact their respective National Federations. Nominations must be submitted no later than Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Please note thatshortlisted candidates will be required to participate in an interview on Friday, August 7, 2026.
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Olympic Committee will fully cover on-the-ground logistics for the successful nominee, including accommodation, meals, ground transportation, conference facilities and audio-visual support.
