The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. (BOA) today revealed more of its 201-strong delegation set to represent Barbados at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Santo Domingo, from July 24 to August 8, 2026. The additional squad comprises 53 athletes and a dedicated 11-member medical and administrative support team.
The athletic disciplines in this second set feature a diverse mix of team and individual sports with a total of 53 athletes competing in Men’s and Women’s Hockey, Karate, Sailing, Shooting, Weightlifting, and Wrestling. Among them are one of Barbados’ most experienced shooters, Dave Seale and senior hockey players Nakisha Downes-Whittaker and Che Roach, who previously represented Barbados at the 2023 CAC Games.
To provide the athletes with high-quality support and safeguard their well-being, the BOA has also named a strong administrative and medical support team to accompany them. Led by Chef de Mission Dr. Adrian Lorde, the management team includes Deputy Chef de Mission Mona Alleyne and Administrator Glyne Clarke. The medical team is spearheaded by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ingrid Burrowes, alongside Dr. Chloe Thompson, physiotherapists Alicia Brewster, Marita Marshall, Dr. Janae Lewis, and Abigail Lindo, and massage therapists Dawn Boxill and Justin Hurley.
Bringing a dual perspective as both a medical doctor and the delegation’s leader, Chef de Mission Dr. Adrian Lorde highlighted the critical importance of a robust support network at regional multi-sport games of this scale.
“With a delegation of this size, having a strong sports medicine and administrative team backing our athletes is an absolute necessity to manage the physical demands of competition,” Dr. Lorde said. “Our medical officers, physiotherapists, and massage therapists are some of the finest in the region, and their expertise will ensure Team Barbados is fully prepared and protected on and off the field.”
