The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. (BOA), in collaboration with Better Health Magazine, invites the public to lace up their sneakers or hiking boots and reconnect with nature at the second edition of the Scenic Sunrise ECO Hike on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
Set to begin and end at Farley Hill National Park, St. Peter, the event promises an energising morning of fitness, camaraderie and exploration of some of Barbados’ most scenic landscapes.
Starting at 5:30 a.m., participants will have the opportunity to select from three hiking routes designed to accommodate varying fitness levels:
- Easy: Cherry Tree Hill
- Moderate: Mount Gay, St. Lucy
- Challenging: Walkers, St. Andrew
The general registration fee is $25 and includes breakfast along with the June edition of Better Health Magazine. Participants also have the option of general registration plus a commemorative t-shirt for just $60.
Speaking on the upcoming event, Director of the BOA’s National Olympic Academy, Janelle Denny, reflected on the strong response to last year’s inaugural hike and shared her enthusiasm for this year’s staging.
“Last year’s Scenic Sunrise ECO Hike received tremendous support, with participants embracing the chance to stay active while exploring the natural beauty our country has to offer. We are delighted to again partner with Better Health Magazine to bring the event back for a second year and look forward to welcoming even more people for what promises to be an enjoyable and fulfilling experience,” she said.
