Ida Elms-Edghill – Programme Officer

Ida Elms-Edghill is a dedicated Programme Officer at the National Olympic Academy, part of the Barbados Olympic Association Inc. She holds a master’s degree in Sports Science with distinction from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. Ida views the body as a holistic system—a temple that must be respected and treated with honour.

From a young age, Ida was deeply interested in health and fitness, inspired by her mother, who emphasised the importance of nutritional, physical, and spiritual health. This early influence led her to work and volunteer in environments focused on helping others meet their needs for pain and stress relief. Her journey included becoming a UK-certified Massage Therapist, where she directly interacted with clients to alleviate pain and stress.

Ida is a consistent and conscientious worker who puts her all into every project, whether for her organisation or her studies. Personal growth and professional advancement are some of Ida’s driving forces. She is a multi-skilled, trustworthy, and tactful office professional and self-starter with excellent customer care focus. Quick and keen to learn, Ida possesses excellent judgment and strong problem-solving skills. She works well on her own initiative as well as part of a team, and thrives in challenging environments. Her core strengths are attention to detail and exceptional organisation skills, the ability to prioritize many responsibilities along with excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.

In her free time, Ida enjoys fencing and baking sweet treats, balancing her professional dedication with personal hobbies that bring her joy and relaxation.
