Olympic Museum Introduces a New VR Feature

The Barbados Olympic Association Inc. (BOA) Olympic Museum has introduced an exciting new immersive Virtual Reality (VR) experience, made possible through a partnership with Pharmacy Sales Caribbean Inc.

The museum now features a dedicated station equipped with a state-of-the-art VR headset, offering a unique blend of sport, education, entertainment, and athletic inspiration. This exciting new feature is set to enhance the museum experience, making it more engaging and interactive for visitors of all ages.

“We are grateful to Pharmacy Sales Caribbean Inc. for their support in bringing this technology to the Olympic Museum,” said Sandra Osborne, President of the BOA. “With this immersive VR experience, visitors can step into the action of sports such as archery, boxing, football, squash, and tennis, feeling the excitement, challenge, and dedication of being an athlete. Our goal is to inspire future generations of athletes, spark curiosity, and celebrate the Olympic values of excellence, respect, and friendship.”

The VR headset, which features 11 sports, is a great addition to the Olympic Museum’s collection, which already features historic Olympic posters, pins from National Olympic Committees worldwide, photographs of Barbadian athletes, and medals and profiles of medallists from major games.

“We sincerely thank the entire Pharmacy Sales team, whose commitment to innovation and community engagement has made this initiative a reality. The Olympic Museum is now poised to offer a world-class, high-tech sporting experience to residents and tourists alike,” Director of the National Olympic Academy, Janelle Denny, added.
