Registration Closes Tomorrow for the Girls’ Positive and Safe Coaching Pathway Course

Register now for the Girls’ Positive and Safe Coaching Pathway Course hosted by the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC), The Association for International Sport for All (TAFISA), and NIKE.

This initiative is intended to tackle gender inequity in sports at all levels by removing barriers and creating a more equitable, accessible, accommodative, and positive experience for girls in sports. Coaches, technical officials, managers, retired athletes, and women and girls in sports are invited to register.

Upon completing the eight-week hybrid course, participants will be certified by TAFISA as Girls Positive and Safe Pathway Coaches. This certification is recognised both regionally and internationally. Modules to be covered include:

1. Made to Play Coaching Girls Guide 

2. Safeguarding in Sport for All 

3. Body Confidence Sport 

4. Coaching HER

The objectives of the course are:

  1. To raise awareness for the significance of an active and healthy lifestyle among girls and women, as well as the need for adapted coaching for girls and women.
  2. To provide training and education to coaches, sports leaders, and managers to improve the quality of sports coaching offered to girls and women using the Pathway toolkits and modules. 
  3. To hold training workshops for senior female athletes who are retiring, to retain them as coaches and trainers of the Pathway.
  4. To create networks of advocates, trainers, and alums of the Pathway.
  5. To provide coaches and girls in sports with safeguarding tools for protection against non-accidental harm.
